  Hey, thanks for all the reply’s.

  Personally speaking, I don't have a problem believing there may be something that exists, even though I can't visibly perceive it. Astronomers for instance, believe that there is a completely opposite /negative Universe that exists to the one we know of to our existence. IMHO, its somewhat short sighted to say that such occurrences (as what I am experiencing in my apartment) must NOT be of a spiritual nature or something that does not exist but on a different plain. The question for me, is just what is it? Maybe we find out these kind of answers when we die? Maybe we never find out? When I was a kid I discovered the Ouija Board and I could tell y’all stories about that thing that would raise the hair on the back of your neck. I don’t think I ever really believed in the spirit realm before that experience, but I have ever since.

  As to how old is my apartment building? Less than Five years old.

  Could I learn something by doing a genealogy check regarding my ‘spook’ experience?

  Leave "them" a note and see if "they" reply? Interesting, but kinda creepy.

  I’ve thought about asking about previous renters in the apartment, but if I found out someone had been murdered or something like that, that might unnerve me a bit.

  I did buy some items at a garage sail a few moths ago. It was about the time the weird things began to happen. I bought some very old Watchtower and Awake magazines! If there ever were something a ‘demon’ would like to ‘possess’ that would be it! LOL

  i find it very interesting that the bible and mythology are very close, when speaking about god.

  also the statement made by god in the bible to worship no other god but him, in effect saying that there are others gods.

  has anyone actually looked into the occult, for lack of a better word, and actually made contact with an entity?

  It’s a fairly new building, but its not building noise. I'm fifty and I have had many places and I know all about settling noises and weird sounds homes/apartments make. This isn't like anything I have ever encountered before. I expect to look up and see someone moving about, a few feet from me but the is no one there of course. I have real sensitive hearing (I’m musician) and there's no mistaking what I'm hearing with that which would be noises from another apartment. Its in there with me, whatever it is making the sounds. I do believe in the spirit realm, just maybe not the way the JW's believe in it. I don't look for spooks under every rock or blame "demons: for this and that. I don't see dead people, but I have communicated with the other side in my past. I don't know what exactly that it is, but THAT it is, I am sure.

Mostly though, its sound related. Ya know the kind of sounds you hear when you're in one room, and someone else in another room moving about? It’s like that. There's no mistaking it. The other day my little girl was over and we were alone in the apartment. We were in the living room area when all of a sudden it just sounded like there was someone else in the apartment with us, down the hall and in the bedroom, moving about. My little girl who is 10, quickly looked at me scared as hell that someone had sneaked into the apartment, but of course no one had. I deflected her concern by saying that it was just "apartment" noise coming through the walls, and she calmed down. But it wasn’t like that at all. You would have thought someone would have come walking out of the bedroom with all the noise going on in there. It doesn’t really bother me all that much, but it can be a bit unnerving. Like the morning I got up to pray, and I was sitting in my easy chair in the living and it sounded like someone was making toast or something for breakfast in the kitchen. Really weird. Nothing ever seems to be misplaced, but there’s no mistaking the sound of movement. Anyone ever had to deal with something like this? It’s kinda funny really, but it’s kinda weird too. Booga Booga!

  I think also one of the reasons for a forum like this one is that its a safe haven for those who need to get advice, but also who need to ‘hear' their own words. It helps when trying to sort things out, and if they didn't have those of us here who have heard it all before, then they would be at a loss. I have been out of the WBTS for going on thirty years now, and sometimes I wonder why I make my rounds over here when cruising the Net. I think for me its all about connection. Having being a JW is not quite like any other experience most people have ever had and only another former JW can completely and readily relate to my experience and visa versa. It creates an instant bond regardless of spiritual or political views. I may think you’re nuts to believe this or that way about whatever, but with the JW thing, we got that down. It’s kinda like a family that way, and I guess that’s what keeps me posting and interacting here on the forums. Just my thoughts on the matter.

  Insensitive talk assignments

  i once was assigned a talk on masturbation when i was about fifteen or so.

  the theme of the talk was to discourage masturbating (actually to forbid the practice), as it was considered by the society a no no.

  looking back on it, it offends me to this day that they would give a kid such a sensitive and embarrassing talk assignment like that.

  Been away for a few days and am just now reading over everyone's replies. My God, but what bullshit we had to endure as JW's! I thought my little story was bad enough until I read all of these! I'm particularly fond of the one about delaying a young woman's 'shame' of desfellowshipping so she could give the M talk. Did I understand that story correctyl? And the one about how the guy who was to give the 2nd part of the meeting only to find he was to be DF'd?

  Its hard for me to grasp how low the WBTS is capable going. I'm always amzed to see it go even lower.
